We are a network of parents, teachers and healthcare professionals across Scotland who have come together united by one thing - a profound and growing concern over the impact of screens and educational technology in classrooms.
Growing evidence indicates that digital dependency and excessive screen use - especially when it begins in childhood - can lead to long-term mental and physical harms. While adults can also be affected, the greater impact on children during development is particularly concerning.
Based on the evidence available now, we believe there is an urgent need to take action and we must begin to mitigate these risks without delay.
Why make a group?
Parents, and children as young as seven, are being asked to sign damage waiver forms to accept liability for device harm on poorly protected tech, with no risk assessment or national safety standards.
